Your OAHU Vacation Rental May Be At Risk Of Water Or Mold Damage

Is your Vacation Rental at risk?
With new vacation rental laws being enforced starting August 1st, 2019, many vacation rental homes are being shut down.
All vacation rentals have a constant flow of short term residents coming in and out. One thing many do not realize, these homes are at risk, as there are no long term residents to notice the possible mold growth or water damage to the home or property.
As new vacation rental laws are being enforced more prevalently, many vacation rentals will be needing a change in their targeted population, including possible long term rental agreements.
In making these new changes SERVPRO recommends homeowners walk through their homes and check for any fungi growth in common places such as:
- Cabinets
- Closets
- Behind/Below Furniture
- Small enclosed areas
- Dark/Damp Rooms
Pipe leaks or seemingly minimal water damage can cause extensive issues and damage to your Kahuku rental. SERVPRO recommends homeowners walk through any vacation/long term rentals to check for possible water damage. Common places to check may include:
- Walls
- Bathrooms
- Under sinks
- Behind large appliances
- Hoses
- All faucets
If your rental has experienced any fungi/water damage call our SERVPRO team (808)-744-2730 today for an inspection.
